Socialist or Capitalist: no fury

The socialist and the capitalist are almost the same.
Imagine, if the socialist goes to capitalist countries
to request for loans and grants in order to build
infrastructure in their socialist states forgetting that
cost of infrastructure is a capital investment and
cannot yield immediate returns resulting in huge
debt piled up for future generations.
Nevertheless imagine a capitalist who is so concerned
about making profit and crave for the legalisation
of "weed" because it is the business fueling his fortune.

But these two perspectives whether polished or prefixed
with "neo" or "modified" all converge.
The center of it all is humanity. Its like looking inside
a bottle with your two eyes. It is impossible!
only one can see at a point in time.

I remember a comment passed by a passenger whom I
sat with in a bus "troski". He was far older than I was
so I was quite taken aback by his comment. A very
nice luxurious range rover over took us in a rush. The
passenger was so furious to the extent that he insulted
the person driving the range rover. and I quote "they
have money but they are greedy and keep it to himself
and waste it on unnecessary things like cars forgetting
that he will die and leave it behind. Instead of opening
up factories to employ the youth- annoying".

Other passengers in the car applauded this man
indirectly in their minds by nodding their heads in
agreement.

I sat with mixed feelings of sadness and surprise. I
asked myself  isn't this car in which we are sitting
manufactured abroad by a company? are we not paying
escalated lorry fair to the driver of this bus? aren't
we also making this driver rich? wouldn't this driver
buy a luxurious car when he gets richer, or perhaps even
stop driving this bus altogether?

Wasn't the range rover also manufactured by a
company?" wasn't the car manufactured by different
groups of department working for the range rover
company? aren't the workers being paid? what about
those who manufactured the metals for the body, rubber
for the types and interior, leather for the seat etc?
didn't these processes create employment for some
people around the world? probably the metal was
imported even from another country giving employment
to some people in that country. Moreover, the leather
could be from a small village in a country in Africa!

Among the many things we fail to realise in Africa
include we think we are thinking properly only
because we think improperly.

Maybe we don't need to be capitalist or socialist,
we need to be something new altogether maybe
a "capsoc". Whether socialist all capitalist, if the
people do not feel comfortable, both is worse.

Looks Else Where!

One evening, a policeman  saw a man busily tossing his hands and fingers in the bushes just under a street light. Amazed by what this man was doing, the policeman pulled over, parked the police patrol car and got out of the car marching towards this man.
“Hey, what is going on? Is everything okay?”, the policeman asked the man who seemed to have had enough to drink and probably lost something of his along the line. “No mate! I just lost my keys.” he replied. The policeman, thought it wise to help this man find his so called “lost keys’.
Over half an hour of searching and searching almost everywhere possible hoping to find the keys, the policeman got tired of searching for something which almost seemed invisible and asked this man, “Are you sure you misplaced your keys around this place?” “Um, I guess not.” the man replied. “Then why are we looking for it here”, the policeman inquired. “Because this is where the lights are”, the man answered.
What would you do to this man if you were the policeman?

I mean how on earth can you misplace something in a dark room and go out to search for it under the street lights?

The Policeman:

Is it not simple to copy someone's progress or do a similar business someone is already doing? Of course it is! People find it easy to imitate rather than create. The policeman was ready with all his might to toe the line of the drunkard without coming up with any strategy or an innovative way of searching for the keys. The reason why he didn't ask is because it was easy and morally right to follow the man look for his key rather than ask questions. That is how the world is, people go into business because they see people making money out of such venture. At times they are also morally scared to venture into certain businesses because they think it is for the "bad people" say politics? Hardly do we pause to ask how they are doing it right.

The Drunkard:

This man had drunk his mind out and couldn't not thing far! lol , he has refused to explore other places towards finding his key. This is because he is afraid of the dark and cannot see anything in the dark and therefore concludes that there is nothing new in the dark. The question is why would you want to explore the light when you already see everything clear? what is there to explore? Light produces only imitation because what others have done become clear. It is in the greatest darkness that you find the priceless shine! that is where innovations are hidden.

Its a lesson to us all, it is calling us to move forward, ask questions and explore the new ventures. you don't need to give up trying because it only needs to work once!

I say looks else where for what you have been searching for all these year!

Be Smart a with investment.

I don't encourage long term investment if you have short term plans for your money. The best investment in Ghana today is:

Treasury Bill: why? this is because it is an election year and government
borrowing goes high.

Howeve: the treasury bill will be risky to invest in
especially around this time of an election year.

Touch wood, there could be instability during the voting process and about results which
could cause an investor in treasury bill to loose all his money. It is therefore
a risk you are taking. A positive risk though, well lets say you like gambling like me lol!

By Speculation and high government spending, treasury bill in Ghana is above 20%
returns.

Advise:
Invest in a 3 months treasury bill if you have the heart to take the risk.
Don't role back principal plus interest because it is a greater risk.

Hurry and be cashsmart.
